19:01 – Two workers died and a third seriously wounded is the outcome of an incident along the Mestre bypass, near Mirano . The three were carrying out work along the roadway when they were overwhelmed by a truck. The tragedy occurred about three kilometers from the exit of Spinea, towards Milan. The three were doing the work of cleaning the roadside on behalf of the concessionaire of the loop.

The three were working on the truck in front of the Cav, the highway concessionaire, where the latter is was hit violently by a truck driven by an Italian. Their company, De Zottis spa, was awarded the contract for three years of service for routine maintenance of the green.

After the impact, which has projected the truck against the guardrail on the right with barrier absorbing, the truck driver stopped and called for help. Two of the workers have died while the third, in serious condition, was flown by helicopter to the hospital. The loop was closed to traffic and subsequently reopened, allowing the passage of cars along the emergency lane. The victims were 29 and 47 years.
