Rimini, 11 November 2016 – “I saw her the last time on the first of September when I reached in the hospital because she was sick, then nothing more. The our history was already over.” Tell that to the investigators has been l' ex 'boyfriend' Maria Pia Galanti, the young moroccan who gave a turn to the investigation to arrive at the identification of the mummified body, found in a container in the station of Santarcangelo.
The boy had been joined by a signaling tracing, on the 26th of October, (two days after the discovery of the body) while he was in the police headquarters in Varese, where he had gone to obtain a necessary document for his journey, already planned, in Morocco, where it is now. To him the police had arrived after the parents of Maria Pia had made a complaint of death on the 16th of September: “Help us find our daughter”, they pleaded with the father and the mother. In fact, the nineteen-year-old, at the end of August, had been reported in a former colony abandoned in the company of a dozen north africans of no fixed abode. Among these there was also the 'boyfriend'. So agents of Varese, on behalf of the colleagues of the Mobile of Rimini, they showed the pictures of the garments and the ring found on the unknown.
“I gave I this ring to my ex,” he said. The maghreb has also recognized the clothing that belonged to Maria Pia. Then he immediately added: “I have Not seen from the first of September because we left”. And the moroccan, just returned in Italy, will again be heard by the investigators (coordinated by the pm Paul Gengarelli) that are analysing the last days of the life of Mary. At the end of July, the young man had had a gynaecological examination, fear of being pregnant, but the response was negative. Meanwhile, also yesterday, investigators returned to Santarcangelo: from Rome came the men of Science who have completed a new survey.
They collected other traces of red, but not fingerprints. Remains the question number one: what is the dead Maria Pia? No track is excluded, the surveys are 360-degrees, ranging from illness to homicide. The nineteen-year-old had called his mother on the 4th of September to tell her that he was fine. Then the total silence. What happened to Mary? And right on the circle of friends, north african, small dealers, that the young man had, are directed to the investigations. Maria Pia Galanti, restless since his adolescence, was over trapped in a round of drug: an addiction to smoking heroin. The autopsy failed to reveal the causes that led to the death of a young girl of only 19 years. The investigators await the toxicology and histology, hoping that they can make a change. It still remains the mystery: what was up with Mary when she died? But, more importantly, what or who has put the word end to the dreams of a soul rebel?
