Brussels, oct 25. – Arrived this evening the letter sent by the european Commission to ask Italy questions on the draft budget 2017. Brussels calls on the Italian government for clarification on non-compliance of the commitments of reduction of the structural deficit and the amount of the expenses incurred in connection with exceptional events (crisis of migrants and earthquake) budget 2017 ‘by Thursday’ 27 October’. And’ what we read in the letter signed by the Eu commissioners Valdis Dombrovskis and Pierre Moscovici. ‘A preliminary examination of the programmatic document for the budget in 2017 – is the law – suggests that the planned change in the structural budget by 2017, as recalculated in accordance with the methodology commonly accepted, is negative and well below the 0.6% of Gdp, or more than recommended by the Council on 12 July’. The european Commission then asks to Italy ‘for more informatio n about some points of the budget programme for the 2017 ‘in order to evaluate if Italy meets the conditions for which the flexibility of the’ additional and’ been granted to 2016′. In particular, we read in the letter sent out this evening from the Commission to the Italian government, one week after the presentation of the budget in 2017, we need explanations concerning the review of the objectives and the substantial difference that emerges with respect to the commitments taken at the last spring’. In fact, it should be stated in the letter, ‘Italy has benefited from a flexibility-significant according to the rules of the pact of stability and growth,
