As of yesterday afternoon, the earth trembles in the Chianti hills and earthquakes, now just under thirty, were felt from Florence to Prato, Pisa, Siena, up to the province of Arezzo. The last quake that occurred in the area, with a magnitude of 4.1, occurred at 11:36 at a depth of 7.1 km, was distinctly felt even in the capital and caused a lot of fear among the population. In some areas of the city, reportedly, some residents took to the streets.
Four municipalities in the province of Florence in 10 km from the epicenter: Greve in Chianti, Impruneta, San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Greve in Chianti. Several people in the Tuscan capital left the buildings to take to the streets; there are evacuations in parts of the provinces of Arezzo and Prato. For precautionary reasons also employees of numerous private public offices, including those of the region of Tuscany, abandoned buildings and poured into the street. Many phone calls to the fire brigade, but for now there are no damages to property or persons, but are reported power outages. This morning, at 10:39, it was recorded a quake of magnitude 3.8.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) points out that the sequence, starting from yesterday, has recorded more than 80 shocks. Of these at least 10 have been of a magnitude greater than 2.5.
