The Cori flag wavers open in Rome the Harvard World Model United – LatinaToday

Another prestigious event for the Flag Throwers of Cori in the year of the 50th anniversary of their founding. Monday, March 14 the Ensigns in Renaissance costumes exhibited the ancient and noble art of wield the banner at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome, where it opened the 25th edition of ‘ Harvard World Model United . It was attended by numerous authorities, including the President of the Council, Matteo Renzi, the rector of Sapienza Eugenio Gaudio and the President of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti.

The WorldMUN is the most important international UN simulation held every year in a different country. A great learning event, cultural and social, unique and high thickness, organized by Harvard University in collaboration with United Network and with the support of Lazio Region, Metaenergia, Finmeccanica, SIAE, University of Rome La Sapienza, Coldiretti . Until March 18 participating 3000 students selected from the best universities around the world .

During the daily conferences, these delegates from more than 110 nationalities assume the role of Ambassadors and held public speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with stakeholders and resolve conflicts through the use of the procedural rules of Nations United. The official language is English. The week will be full of special meetings, like the one with Pope Francis , that Thursday, March 17 will receive young people in the Vatican.

Then will parade from St. Peter at the Colosseum with its flag, to witness the will to be united and work together for a peaceful future . The best students will be awarded in the closing ceremony at the Auditorium della Conciliazione. The other significant moments: the Global Village , great food feast, drink, music and traditions; Cabaret , dedicated to the customs and dances of each delegation; Committee Dinner to Coldiretti Market and the The Great Beauty party at the MAXXI – National Museum of XXI Century Arts.
