ROME – Calano the carjackings in 2015 but the cars continue to be preferred by thieves. According to data of the common law enforcement by the Department of Public Safety in 2015 the stolen cars were 114,121 compared to the 120,495 stolen in 2014. This figure translates to 312 cars stolen per day: one every five minutes.
the region with the highest number of thefts is Campania , with 23,682 car thefts and a percentage of 36% recoveries. Second place went to the New York with 18,709 subtractions and an even lower percentage of refunds which stood at 30%. Third place for the Apulia (17,046 thefts and a rate of 45% recoveries), fourth for the Lombardy (15,093 with 48% of recoveries), fifth for Sicily (14,535 and 42% of recoveries). At the other end of the ranking we find the Valle d’Aosta with only 40 stolen vehicles, 15 of which recovered to a rate of 38%; follows the Trentino Alto Adige with 223 thefts and 161 recoveries of 72% and Molise with 340 stolen cars and found 92 (27%).
The “geography” of the theft does not change if we analyze the ranking Some cities.
