Rome, July 7, 2015 – The Prime Minister Matteo Renzi returns said the outcome of the referendum vote in Greece and with a post on Facebook promises that Italy will do its part.
“There are two construction sites to be addressed quickly in European capitals and in Brussels.
The first case of Greece, a country that is in a very difficult economic and social conditions. The meetings tomorrow will indicate definitively to solve this emergency.
The second – even more fascinating and complex, but no longer be postponed – is the site of Europe. For months we have been insisting to discuss not only austerity and budgets, but growth, infrastructure, common policies on migration, innovation, environment. In a word: politics, not only parameters. Values, not just numbers.
If we stay still, prisoners of regulations and bureaucracies, Europe is over.
Rebuilding a diverse Europe will not be easy, after what has happened in recent years. But this is the right time to try to do it all together. Italy will play its part. “Renzi wrote on Facebook.
