Arrested a policeman and two officials in the city of Savona A policeman and two officials of the Interior ministry were arrested this morning in Savona with the accusation of corruption. They accepted money and gifts in exchange for concessions for some of the practices, by the release of residence permits, change of surname, to the reduction of days of suspension of the licence. In addition to the police and to officials, then arrested three other people: a moroccan national, o ne Albanian and an Italian woman.

The policeman, the accused also submitted in the facilitation of prostitution, and the moroccan have been subjected to remand in prison, while the two officials of the Interior Ministry are under house arrest, such as the Italian, who has been accused of exploitation of prostitution, and Albanian.

The investigation started in December 2015, when in the course of another investigation emerged contacts suspicions between some suspects and the policeman. According to investigators, “the policeman and the two officials of the ministry would systematically abused of their functions by facilitating practices in exchange for money, but also gifts, such as clothes, phone cards, dinners, and recruitment of friends, medical visits, costs free in the shops”.

One of the two officials of the ministry of Interior arrested Andrea Santonastaso, the current commissioner of the prefecture to the Municipality of Borghetto Santo Spirito.
Santonastaso, 64 years, viceprefetto, he has held several times the post of commissioner of the prefecture in the Municipalities: in 1993 Rosta (Torino-italy), in 1994 in Celle Ligure, from 1997 to 1999, Albenga, from 2012 to 2013 in Carcare, in 2016 in Spotorno, all the Municipalities of Savona.

The other officer arrested is Charles The Old, in service

at the Prefecture of Savona, while the policeman is Roberto Tesio, a former inspector in the mobile team which is currently a logistics task.
they Are accused of corruption, traffic of influences, illicit drugs, embezzlement, aggravated fraud to the detriment of the State, a revelation of the secrets of office, and aiding and abetting of illegal immigration, fake. The policeman is accused also of the competition in aiding and abetting prostitution.
